That’s the one thing I’ve discovered over the past few months.
Life is based on what is placed before you. The one thing I wanted to do over the last few months is put La famille du solénoïde into it’s final resting stage and call it complete. But the more I listen to the final renditions of what I have completed, I realize that it is done. The key question, is ….Is it something that others will enjoy. While I love it and enjoy it, it can have a few points that need refractor, but I am a perfectionist and know that nothing I do will ever be completely satisfactory. So I have to open it up to the listening audience. If you feel that the CD is worth releasing in it’s current form, then I’ll do just that.
Therefore, I have released the album in it’s entirety for your listening pleasure until I finalize and send the media to CD Baby for conclusion.
My question to you is, does it suffice? Is it something you would purchase?
All the songs at this location are being released in their entirety for your listening pleasure. If you are a follower of my blog, you’ll let me know if something is out of synch and needs further work. Otherwise, I’m ready to ship this product. Of course, when I ship, I will reduce the availability of the tunes to just samples, but I would be highly encouraged by your feedback.
Therefore, listen to La famille du solénoïde in it’s entirety and let me know what you think!
Again, each track is the full track that will show up on the CD. Let me know what you think!

This week, there are two free full length songs from the upcoming La famille du solénoïde CD.
And
La famille du solénoïde is a musical tour through our solar system inspired by the book “The Planets” by Dava Sobel.
Thief in The Night (Mercury) and Goddess of Love (Venus) are available in their entirety for your listening pleasure for a limited time! (FYI, Sol was reduced to a sample again)
Give them a listen and let me know what you think!
As I noted in my previous post God of the Sea and my Plan of Attack, I was debating releasing each song in full for 1 week as I finalized them.
This weeks free full length song is Giver of Life (Sol) from the upcoming La famille du solénoïde CD.

As I noted in my previous post God of the Sea and my Plan of Attack, I was debating releasing each song in full for 1 week as I finalized them.
Well, this one is really complete, and I don’t see myself making any structural changes to it other than overall tonal post production. Therefore, this week is bonus week
. Not only is God of the Sea (Neptune) available in full but God of War (Mars) is also available in it’s entirety for your listening pleasure!
For the fans, you will notice that God of War (Mars) is actually a variant of Redshift (Part II – Movement IV) from my CD The Maestoso Interstellar Suite. This version is extended and the base melody is changed up a bit, and found it fitting for Mars. I made this version shortly after releasing The Maestoso Interstellar Suite, because it appeared to be the most popular song from that CD.
Give it a listen, and let me know what you think!

This weekend, I created the first draft of what I believe will be the last song on my forthcoming CD La famille du solénoïde.

La famille du solénoïde is a musical tour through our solar system inspired by the book “The Planets” by Dava Sobel.
The track is God of the Sea (Neptune) and remember, it’s a work in progress, and will not be the final version that shows up on the CD
Like I did previously with Ouranos the Progenitor (Uranus), I’m releasing the current draft in full. The rest of the tracks (Like all the other CD Products I have listed on my music site) are just 2 minute samples of the full tracks. I have also reduced my previous full release of the draft of Ouranos the Progenitor (Uranus) to roughly a 2 minute sample.
Speaking of the CD, now it’s time to start going back through all the tracks, and determining if I feel they are finished, or what more I want to add/take away, etc on them. I also want to spend a great deal of quality time in these tracks before releasing this CD. I’m currently planning on focusing quality time on 1 track per week, which would put me to final post production on the songs in just over 2 months. Add an extra week for finalizing the cover artwork, and liner notes, then a couple of weeks while they are shipped to CD Baby. So in roughly 3 months, I’m estimating that the CD will be ready for purchase, as well as beginning it’s journey to the digital distribution sites like iTunes, Rhapsody and others.
Sometimes I can be very impatient, so I’m trying not to let my impatience get the best of me and rush this thing out the door, but I also want everyone to be able to get a taste of the final songs without just giving everything away for free all the time, so at this time, I’m debating releasing each song in it’s entirety for 1 weeks duration each.
For example, when I finalize Sol, I’ll release the full version via this blog for 1 week. Then, when I complete Mercury, I reduce Sole to a 2 minute sample, then release Mercury in full, etc, etc.
Only time will tell if I decide to do this, so keep checking back!
So, go listen to God of the Sea (Neptune) and I would be interested in your feedback!

It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to sit down and do some music, so during a portion of the day on Sunday, and some time this evening…I whipped up the first draft of the latest song for the new CD I’m working on.
The track is Ouranos the Progenitor (Uranus), and the “Work in progress” CD is currently titled La famille du solénoïde

La famille du solénoïde is a musical tour through our solar system inspired by the book “The Planets” by Dava Sobel.
Unlike the other tracks currently listed on the CDs page, I’m releasing the current draft in full. The rest of the tracks (Like all the other CD Products I have listed on my music site) are just 2 minute samples of the full tracks. I’ve decided to release Ouranos the Progenitor (Uranus) in full at this time. (Remember, it’s a work in progress, and will not be the final version that shows up on the CD).
(Update 02-26-2007: Removed the full draft for this song, check out God of the Sea (Uranus) for the latest full draft song)
I would be interested in your feedback!

I originally setup this blog for posting about indieOpolis and my personal ramblings. But that was when I wanted to separate my personal music postings away from my MSDN technical blog on SharePoint.
Well, since then
I’ve made a major career change. You can read all about it here on my new “Personal+Technical” blog http://blog.krichie.com .
When I setup my MSDN blog while working at Microsoft, I debated on and off about posting personal items there. Those of you who followed me there, saw where one day it was personal tidbits, while the other, it was technical. I finally decided that my MSDN blog would be just that, Developer focused content. But then, well….I changed jobs
. With that, I created my new blog at http://blog.krichie.com. On that blog, it’s going to be a mix, personal tidbits, and SharePoint/Dev tidbits. It’s mine, I own it, I can do whatever I want with it, and the domain name doesn’t specifically state it’s purpose is developer content or not
.
This blog, the indieopolis.net blog, is “NOT” going away, but it will be focused purely on my indieOpolis business, and contain other music related postings. I’ll be referring to it from my blog.krichie.com blog as needed.
I really didn’t want to have two blog sites, but it really does make sense to have indieOpolis separate, as in the future you’ll be able to see postings from other indieOpolis affiliates, musicians, etc.
I’ll be moving my pure personal type stuff to blog.krichie.com (i.e, my Battlestar postings, etc), but I’m probably going to leave the “Tangerine Dream Collection Project…” etc postings on this blog. Dunno. I don’t want to make it confusing for folks, I just like organization and structure. Sometimes I guess I take it too far
.
Anyway’s, just wanted to drop a quick posting and let you know I have not disappeared, nor is this blog defunct now…I’ve just been pretty busy switching jobs and getting back into the swing of things.
More to come!
